Shamindra joined Russell in Sydney, Australia in 1995 and was involved in launching and managing the Russell Private Equity Trust, an Australian private equity fund of funds for institutional investors. Subsequently, Shamindra project managed the launch of Russell strategic alliance with ANZ Bank in Australia and New Zealand.
In 1999, Shamindra moved to Singapore as part of an initial two person team charged with setting up Russells Singapore office, focusing on launching and managing the relationship with the Development Bank of Singapore. Prior to joining Russell in Sydney, Shamindra worked in Sri Lanka where he started his working career as an investment analyst at Sri Lankas pioneering venture capital manager, Capital Development and Investment Company. Shamindra moved to the UK in 2002.
